Photo Collect has always processed sensitive employee photos in Switzerland. The platform now goes a decisive step further: all servers, storage systems and AI cloud computing services are now operated entirely by Swiss hosting and cloud providers. This means that no American companies such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud are involved in image processing - an important milestone for digital sovereignty and data protection.
The US CLOUD Act obliges American companies to grant authorities access to stored data on request - even if this data is physically located in Switzerland or the EU. This poses a considerable risk for companies that process personal or biometric data. In a hearing before the French Senate , Microsoft France had to admit that it cannot guarantee that EU data will not be passed on to US authorities. And that customers may not be informed promptly about the outflow of data.
With the new infrastructure, Photo Collect has completely eliminated this risk: All image processing processes, AI models and storage systems run on servers in Swiss data centers - operated exclusively by Swiss companies and fully under the control of Visible Solutions AG in Zurich.
Personal photos such as employee photos or photographs for ID documents are sensitive, they contain biometric features and are subject to strict laws such as the GDPR and Swiss DPA. Companies, authorities and individuals want to know where their data is located - and who can access it. With Photo Collect you get:
Whether via upload link, photo kiosk or app: people can send their photos easily and securely. The platform automatically checks the image quality (e.g. according to ICAO standards), replaces the image background, crops to fit and delivers standardized formats - perfect for ID cards, access cards, visa applications or intranet profiles.
Thanks to the Swiss hosting infrastructure, Photo Collect is now not only a leader in automation and AI, but also in digital sovereignty and data protection.
